FAQ & troubleshooting¶
I finished setup but no events are showing up
Work through these in order:
- Audit-log access — is View Audit Log still granted to the LogDog account in your group's role settings? See Grant audit-log access. If access was lost, LogDog posts an alert in your setup channel.
- Event toggles — did you turn the category or event type off in
/events? By default everything is on. - Channel permissions — can LogDog still View / Send / Embed in the target channel? If you changed channel permissions after setup, re-check them.
- Activity — LogDog only relays what's in your group's audit log. Quiet group = quiet channels.
How fast do events appear?
Usually within a few minutes of happening in VRChat — sometimes up to around 10. LogDog checks your group's audit log on a regular cycle rather than instantly.
How do I change which channels logs go to?
Run /setup again and pick a new layout (or use Custom to map your own channels).
To start the channel selection over before a group is connected, use Restart setup.
Can I monitor more than one VRChat group from one server?
No — LogDog is one group per server. Use a separate Discord server for each group, or delete the current configuration and connect a different group.
LogDog says it lost access — what do I do?
Re-grant View Audit Log to the account shown in the alert (or re-add the bot if it was removed from Discord). LogDog resumes automatically. If you don't restore access, the configuration is removed after a grace window. See Managing your configuration.
How do I make the log channels private to staff?
Categories LogDog creates during /setup are private by default (hidden from
@everyone, visible to admins). If you used your own existing channels, set their
permissions however you like — LogDog respects them.
Can I customize the embed colors?
Embeds are color-coded by severity automatically. Premium servers can override the color
per event type via the 🎨 Colors menu in /events.
See Premium.
How do I remove LogDog completely?
Run /setup → Delete configuration (type your group name to confirm). The account leaves
your VRChat group and logging stops. You can also remove the bot from your Discord server.
What exactly does LogDog log?
See the full Event catalog — every category and event type, grouped and color-coded.
