Open instances panel

Show your VRChat group's open instances live in a Discord channel — a single, always up-to-date embed listing every instance that's currently open, how many people are in each one, and a one-click link to jump straight in. It's the fastest way for your community to see "where is everyone right now?" without opening VRChat.

Admins only

The open-instances panel is configured from the /config panel, which is administrator-only. Once it's set up, everyone in the channel can see the panel.

What it looks like

LogDog keeps one message in your chosen channel and edits it in place as instances open, fill up, and close. Each open instance shows as its own line, busiest first:

A Game About Crates 17/32 · 7 members · US · Group Public · Open in VRChat

Reading that line:

  • 17/32 — how many people are in the instance right now, out of its capacity.
  • 7 members — how many of them are members of your group.
  • US — the instance region.
  • Group Public — the instance type (Group, Group+, or Members-only).
  • Open in VRChat — a link that launches you straight into that instance.

When nothing's open, the panel simply says "No open instances right now" — so the channel is always a reliable at-a-glance status board.

Two numbers, on purpose

In public and Group+ instances, plenty of the people in-world aren't group members — so LogDog shows both the total headcount and how many are your members. In a Members-only instance the two numbers are the same (everyone there is a member).

Set it up

Run /config, pick 🌐 Open Instances from the dropdown, then:

  1. Choose a channel — pick the text channel where the panel should live.
  2. Enable — LogDog posts the panel and keeps it updated from then on.

That's it. The panel appears within a few minutes and refreshes itself automatically.

LogDog needs to post in that channel

The panel needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Read Message History in the channel you pick. The /config panel checks these for you and warns if anything's missing.

How it updates

  • LogDog checks your group's open instances every few minutes and only edits the message when something actually changes (an instance opened or closed, or a headcount moved), so it stays quiet when nothing's happening.
  • If someone deletes the panel message, LogDog re-posts it automatically.
  • The panel lists the top 10 busiest instances; if your group has more open than that, the rest are summarized as a "+N more open" note at the bottom.

Each instance line includes an Open in VRChat link by default. If you'd rather not show them, use the Join links toggle in the panel to turn them off for your server — the counts and details stay, just without the launch link.

Customize the panel Premium

On Premium servers, the Customize button lets you give the panel your own title and add an image — for example a group banner or event artwork. Free servers get the clean default look.

Turn it off

From the same 🌐 Open Instances panel, hit Disable — LogDog removes the panel message and stops updating. Re-enable any time and it posts a fresh one.
