Member count channel¶
Show your VRChat group's member count right in your Discord server โ as a locked
voice channel that sits at the top of the channel list, like VRC Members: 1,234. It
updates itself automatically, so your community can see how big the group is at a glance.
Admins only
The member-count channel is configured from the /config panel, which is
administrator-only. Once it's set up, everyone can see the channel.
Set it up¶
Run /config, pick ๐ Member Count from the dropdown, then either:
- Create channel โ LogDog makes a ready-to-go locked voice channel for you and turns the counter on. Everyone can see it in the sidebar, but no one can join it โ it's just a live label.
- Or pick an existing voice channel from the selector (use one you already made), then hit Enable.
That's it โ within a minute or two the channel name shows your current member count.
LogDog needs Manage Channels
To create the channel and keep its name up to date, LogDog needs the Manage Channels permission. The panel warns you if it's missing it (globally or on the chosen channel).
How it updates¶
- The number is your VRChat group's member count, refreshed from your group roughly every 15 minutes.
- LogDog only renames the channel when the number actually changes โ if your membership holds steady, the name stays put. This keeps things well within Discord's channel-rename limits.
It's the VRChat group count โ not your Discord server
The default name is VRC Members: {count} (labelled VRC on purpose) so it's never
confused with your Discord server's member count. It counts the members of the VRChat
group LogDog is monitoring for this server.
Customize the name Premium¶
By default the channel is named VRC Members: {count}. On Premium
servers you can change the template from the Customize button โ for example
๐ฅ {count} members or Galaxy Fam ยท {count}. Just keep the {count} placeholder โ
that's where the number goes.
Change or remove it¶
From the same ๐ Member Count panel:
- Disable โ stops updating the channel but leaves it in place.
- Remove channel โ turns the counter off and, if LogDog created the channel, deletes it. If you pointed LogDog at your own channel, Remove just unlinks it and leaves your channel alone.
You can only have one counter channel at a time โ once one is set, Create channel is disabled until you remove it, so you can't end up with leftover duplicates.
