Instance activity & event turnout¶
How busy are your group's instances, really? And how many people actually show up to your events? The dashboard's Group Stats → Instances tab answers both with real occupancy history: while your group has an instance open, LogDog records how many people are in it every few minutes and turns that into activity charts and per-event turnout.
Headcounts only, never identities
VRChat exposes instance occupancy numbers, not player lists, so LogDog records how many people were there, and cannot record who. There is no per-member attendance tracking, by design and by API reality.
The Instances tab¶
Open your server on the dashboard, go to Group Stats, and pick the Instances tab (it opens on the 30-day range). You'll see:
- Headline tiles: Peak concurrent, Instance sessions, Average attendance, and Busiest night.
- Instance activity: the chart of peak players per day. On the 7-day and 30-day ranges a By world view stacks your top four worlds (the rest fold into Other) so you can see where the time goes.
- Day by day: a rollup of your last 31 active days, 7 shown until you expand; click a day to filter the sessions list to just that night. Beside it, Typical week: your week's rhythm by weekday, plus how much of your recorded player-time happened outside scheduled events.
- Event turnout: one row per event series (LogDog-scheduled and imported VRChat or Discord events), showing the latest run's peak and average plus a trend across recent runs.
- Recent instance sessions: your newest 50 instance lifetimes, and Busiest worlds, your top 8 by peak.
- Worth knowing: the card that spells out the data's honest caveats, summarized below.
The Overview tab shows a small teaser row of the same numbers once data exists.
Drilling in¶
- Click any session to open its page: the full occupancy curve over the instance's lifetime, its world, region, and whether one of your LogDog-scheduled events overlapped it.
- Click a past occurrence on an event's page, or a night on the Events page's Past tab, to open its night page: the combined attendance curve across every instance that ran during that event's window, including events that hop worlds over the night, with the event window shaded.
Reading the numbers honestly¶
The charts mark the few cases where a number needs a caveat, so you never mistake an estimate for a count:
- approx: the reading counted group members only (public instances sometimes hide non-member counts), so the true number may be higher.
- summary: for nights older than the 90-day sample window, the peak shown is the biggest single instance from per-instance summaries, so a multi-instance night's true combined peak may have been higher. The Past tab is the exception: its peak was written right after the night ended, from the full readings, and is kept with the night.
- Averages mean "while an instance was open", and days are bucketed in UTC.
Recording starts once the feature is live for your group; the first reading can take up to about an hour to appear, and history builds from there, so charts fill in over the first days and weeks.
Free and Premium¶
The Instances tab, charts, and turnout are free at the 7-day and 30-day ranges. Premium unlocks the 90-day and all-time ranges, like the other stats pages (this tab has no 24-hour view, and CSV export lives on the Group Stats overview).
