Link your VRChat account¶
This page is for members. Linking proves which VRChat account is yours, and the server gives you the roles its staff chose, usually a Linked role. Some servers also give an 18+ role when VRChat shows your account as age-verified. It takes a couple of minutes, and only you can see LogDog's replies while you link.
You need your VRChat account and a server where staff have turned linking on. Look for a message with a Link Account button, or ask the server's staff where it is.
Link your account¶
- Press Link Account on the server's linking message.
- Paste your VRChat profile link or your
usr_…ID. To find the link, open your profile on vrchat.com and copy the address from your browser. - LogDog gives you a one-time code that starts with
LOGDOG-. Add it to your VRChat bio or status, then save. Open your VRChat profile takes you there. The code works for 30 minutes. - Press I've added the code: Verify. Leave the reply open: it updates as soon as LogDog sees the code, and VRChat can take a moment to show a fresh edit.
- Once the reply says you're linked, you can remove the code from your bio or status.
If you saved the code but closed the reply, LogDog still looks for it a few times on its own and sends you a DM when you're linked. If your DMs are closed, linking still works.
If it doesn't work¶
- The code expired. Press Link Account again for a fresh one.
- LogDog can't find the code. Check that you saved the whole
LOGDOG-…code on the same profile you pasted, then press Verify again. VRChat can take a minute to show an edit. - You hit a limit. You can ask for 5 codes, and press Verify 5 times, in 10 minutes. Wait a few minutes, then try again.
- You're linked but have no role. Ask the server's staff. LogDog may not be allowed to give that role yet.
- Your VRChat account is linked to another Discord account. A VRChat account links to one Discord account at a time. Linking it from this Discord account moves the link here, and the other account loses its linked roles.
Get the 18+ role: /reverify¶
The 18+ role comes from VRChat's age verification. LogDog doesn't check your age itself, and writing your age in your bio doesn't count.
If VRChat verifies you as 18+ after you linked, run /reverify in the server:
- If you're linked in that server and proved your account with a code in the last 6 months, LogDog reads your VRChat profile again right away and updates your roles.
- Otherwise, LogDog asks you for a fresh code, as in the steps above.
If VRChat has verified you but your profile shows a different badge or none, pick the
18+ age verification badge on your VRChat profile, then run /reverify. If VRChat no
longer shows you as 18+, the re-check removes the 18+ role.
Leaving, rejoining, and other servers¶
If you leave the server and come back, LogDog gives back your Linked role, and the 18+ role if VRChat shows you as 18+, without a new code, as long as you proved your account with a code in the last 6 months. LogDog never links you in a server where you hadn't linked before.
Some servers accept links made in other LogDog servers. There, Link Account gives you that server's roles without another code.
Unlink: /unlink¶
Unlinking removes your link from every LogDog server
/unlink isn't limited to the server you run it in. Your link is removed everywhere
LogDog is used, and you would have to link again in each server.
Run /unlink to remove your link. LogDog removes the linked Discord roles it gave
you and starts removing any VRChat group roles that role sync gave you. If a role can't be
removed, the reply says what to do, or you can ask the server's staff.
To switch to a different VRChat account, unlink first, then link the new account.
What LogDog keeps¶
LogDog stores the link between your Discord and VRChat accounts and the age status VRChat
reports. It reads your public VRChat profile to check the code. /unlink deletes the
link, your verification attempts, and the cached profile; logs and moderation records are
kept separately. See the Privacy Policy.
