Moderator quick reference

What moderators do with LogDog in Discord, on one page. Each action needs a feature grant; ask your server's admins which ones your role has. Administrators can do everything here without a grant.

Admins: once you've saved your staff's grants, send them this page.

Buttons on log messages

Ban Unban Lift the ban. ban
Join request Approve Let the user into the group. requests
Join request Deny Turn the request down. The user can ask again later. requests
Join request Deny & Block Turn the request down and stop the user asking again. requests
Ban request Ban or Deny Carry out or turn down another moderator's request. ban
Moderation logs Add reason or Edit reason Record why an action was taken. reasons

Reasons

Every form that takes a reason lets you pick one or more of your server's presets, type your own text, or both. Each preset goes on its own line, with your text beneath. The log records who added the reason and who last edited it. See Reason presets.

Commands

Command What it does Grant
/ban user Ban by usr_… ID or profile link, or pick a Discord member to ban the VRChat account they linked here. Leave length empty for a permanent ban. ban
/ban unban Lift a ban. ban
/remove member Remove a user from the group without banning them. ban or removeuser
/getmodhistory Show what's recorded about one user in your group. getmodhistory
/getvrcuser Show a user's VRChat profile, or the account a Discord member linked here. getvrcuser

Only you can see the replies to these commands. The log for the action itself posts to your log channels as usual.

When a button doesn't work

  • You don't have the grant. LogDog tells you privately and leaves the message as it was. Ask an admin.
  • VRChat refused the action. LogDog posts the error and puts the buttons back so you can try again. Usually LogDog's VRChat role is missing a permission (Manage Group Bans, Remove Group Members, or Manage Group Invites), or the user's group rank is the same as or higher than LogDog's. Tell an admin.
  • The request was already handled. A join request that expired, or that someone answered in VRChat, can't be answered again.
  • The message says it's working on it. That first update isn't the result. Wait for LogDog to update the message again.
